Acingo originated in 1997 as Play-By-Play Sports; which created offline match and win sports card games. Soon after achieving its first major distribution deal with the Calgary Flames of the NHL, the company expanded in January 2000 into Play-By-Play Sports Interactive Inc. This iteration of the company offered real-time interactive sports games both in online and wireless formats. After a successful online campaign with the NCAA Washington Huskies football program, the company once again grew and soon began specializing in providing sports content for mobile applications.

For the past two years, the company has worked very closely with San Mateo, CA based ActiveSky Inc., designing and serving as requirements analysts for the real-time FOX Sports Mobile application, which is a 2.5G wireless sports channel successfully deployed with several wireless carriers in the United States.

The evolution from Play-By-Play Sports to Acingo Inc. in 2003 resulted from a realization that there is a real need for a solutions company entirely devoted to relationship building between sports and mobile technology companies. Acingo is now project managing several technology companies’ application development projects as well as developing its own mobile product for British Columbia’s top harness horse racing track, Fraser Downs.
